Ticket Giveaway: The Young Victoria

by Stephen Becker 8 Dec 2009 1:04 PM

KERA will hold a Members Screening of The Young Victoria on Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. Emily Blunt stars as the future Queen of England who can shift the power structure of Europe based upon who she decides to marry. Will she pick her cousin Albert of Germany? Could she end up with her adviser, Lord Melbourne? Or will she fall for a shaggy haired paper salesman from Scranton, Pa.? (Wait, that already happened.)

For anyone interested in European history and tired of all the focus on Elizabeth, you’ll likely learn something in The Young Victoria. If you’d like to attend this advance screening, just click on the pdf of the ticket attached to this post, print it out and bring it to the theater. A quick word of advice: Seating is first come, first served, so if you really, really, really want to see it, I would advice getting there early.

And if all that weren’t enough, the first 10 people who e-mail me ([email protected]) with the subject line YOUNG VICTORIA BOOK will get a copy of We Two: Victoria and Albert: Rulers, Partners, Rivals. Between the movie and the book, you’ll find yourself speaking in a British accent and taking afternoon tea in no time.
