Another day, another ticket giveaway.
Today’s giveaway is for a screening on Thursday night of Departures. This is the film from Japan that surprised everyone by winning the best foreign language film Academy Award at this year’s Oscars, beating out heavy favorite Waltz with Bashir. (In related news, apparently every movie will be nominated for an Oscar this year.) Departures also has a local tie, as it is being distributed by Dallas-based Regent Releasing.
The film will show at 7:30 p.m. at the Regent Highland Park Village Theater, where it will officially open on Friday. The screening is free to KERA members with a valid membership card, but the first 10 people who e-mail me ([email protected]) will get in with a guest guaranteed.
