If you’ve been keeping up with the Big Deal lately, then you already know this summer is the 200th anniversary of the birth of opera composer Giuseppe Verdi. You also know the Angelika Film Center is bringing the Verdi opera series “Very Verdi: A 200th Anniversary La Scala Celebration” to a theater near you.

But what you didn’t know is that for this week’s Big Deal we have tickets to the last opera in the series – La Traviata. This production was filmed at the historic La Scala opera house and stars Angela Gheorghiu as the misunderstood Violetta and Ramón Vargas as the naïve but passionate Alfredo. Our winners will receive complimentary admission for two to see Very Verdi: La Traviata at either the Dallas or Plano Angelika. The screening Sunday at 2 p.m.
