The Big Deal: Tickets to Rags at Lyric Stage

by Anne Bothwell 26 Oct 2011 7:41 AM

This Big Deal offers five winners each a pair of tickets to the world premiere of a new version of Rags at Lyric Stage. The tickets are good for the Nov. 3 performance at 8 p.m..

Rags opened on Broadway in the ’80s, with book by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof), lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and music by Charles Strouse (Annie).  Before he died, Stein re-wrote the book, and Strouse approached Lyric Stage in Irving about presenting the world premiere of the revamped musical.

It follows the tale of five Jewish families who come to New York around the turn of the last century. They work in the garment district during the time of the infamous Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. (This year marks the 100th anniversary of that tragedy, which killed 146 people.)

Before you enter, please make sure to subscribe to the free Art&Seek newsletter. Only subscribers can win, and last week, we had to toss a couple “winners” back because they hadn’t signed up.

You might consider entering this week’s other Big Deals:  Go here for tickets to Ra Ra Riot or Mates of State at the Granada. And go here for tickets to The Addams Family at Dallas Summer Musicals.

Sign up below for Rags.

UPDATE: Thanks to all who entered, we have our winners.
