The Big Deal: The Women Who Compose For Broadway At BATC

by Jessica Cross 4 Mar 2020 1:32 AM

Back for a fifth year, Down For #TheCount honors the Women Who Compose for Broadway, an evening of musical entertainment featuring the music of Nell Benjamin, Nancy Ford, Micki Grant, Mary Rodgers, Brenda Russell, Lucy Simon, Kay Swift, Jeanine Tesori, and more. Over the course of the last century, little recognition has been given to the women who compose Broadway scores and the barriers they have faced.  Created by director, actor, UNT Professor, Marjorie Hayes, the show shines a light on these ground-breaking women who have made their mark on the Broadway stage.  With a bit of historical context, the show celebrates the depth, breadth, and wit of their heart-stopping music. Sometimes a song can bring change. Win this Big Deal and receive two tickets to the opening night performance on March 21.

After you sign up here, head over and check out our other Big Deals for the week. Enter for a chance to spend a day at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth to see “Mark Bradford: End Papers” or tickets to see “Matilda the Musical” at Casa Mañana in Fort Worth.

Please note: Only Art&Seek newsletter subscribers are eligible for the Big Deal. If you are not already a subscriber, you’ll want to sign up here for the newsletter first before signing up below. Winners will be selected by random drawing on Friday and will be notified by email. If the winner does not respond within 24 hours after notification, or cannot make the specified performance date, or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly chosen.
