Dallas Summer Musicals Presents the winner of the 2016 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival – “The Color Purple.” Based on the Alice Walker novel, it tells the heart-rending story of Celie, a young African-American woman and her journey of transformation in the Deep South during the Jim Crow era. The musical with its rousing gospel numbers runs from January 23 through February 4 at the Music Hall at Fair Park.
