The Angelika Film Center is screening the three-part series The Best of the Bolshoi. Last week we gave away tickets to the second in the series La Sylphide. That film screens this weekend, so you still have the chance to catch it. For this week’s Big Deal we have tickets for the last film in the series, The Pharaoh’s Daughter.

The Pharaoh’s Daughter is another ballet revival by legendary French choreographer and original collaborator of  The Nutcracker, Marius Petipa. While on an African safari, our heroes take refuge from a sandstorm inside a pyramid. To pass the time, the travelers partake of opiate treats and dream the Pharaoh’s daughter, buried nearby, comes to life. Ah, love is in the air, even if it is the musty smelling air of an ancient pyramid.

Four lucky winners will get a chance to see the opium-induced fantasy, performed in grand spectacle fashion by the Bolshoi Ballet, for free! The screening takes place at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas and in Plano on Aug. 4 at 2 p.m.

Remember, only Art&Seek e-newsletter subscribers can win the Big Deal so if you’re not a subscriber yet you can take care of that here.
