The Big Deal: Rodgers And Hammerstein At The Movies With The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra

by Gila Espinoza 22 Feb 2017 8:32 AM

“Oklahoma,” “Carousel,” “South Pacific,” “The King and I,” and “The Sound of Music.”  Sound familiar? They’re just a few of the collaborations by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Together, the composer and lyricist reimagined musical theater and heralded a new age for the musical – and of course, their successful translations into films. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will provide the live soundtrack and accompany the original vocals to re-mastered movie clips in their upcoming concert, “Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies.” Win this Big Deal and you can take your honey bun to the Friday, March 10 show at Bass Performance Hall.  Wouldn’t that make for some enchanted evening?
