Art&Seek is very excited about having Oil and Cotton participate for the first time in our Big Deal program. The creative exchange is all settled in their new store front in Oak Cliff. In addition to their children’s art classes and camps they have a wonderful slate of adult workshops – like this one. Enter to win a Portrait Watercolor Workshop with artist Jay Bailey.  Here is what you can expect from Jay’s workshop.

BD oil and cotton logo“This workshop will explore the use of watercolor and mixed media techniques to render and depict a human portrait. Watercolor has unique qualities which allow for flexible applications and dynamic paintings. We will discuss material considerations such as brushes, papers, surfaces, and paints. We will also cover concepts and methods which will open doors for any level of painter, such as a limited palette and the role of preliminary drawings. We will primarily work from photographs, however, we will also work from life when discussing portraiture concepts.”

The workshop takes place on June 27, from 3-6 p.m.

Don’t forget to take the time now to peruse our other offerings this week – tickets to see Les Misérables at Casa Mañana, or Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Concerts in the Garden featuring Luke Wade.

PLEASE NOTE: Only Art&Seek e-newsletter subscribers can win the Big Deal.  If you are not a subscriber take care of that first, then sign up below for a chance to win a Portrait Watercolor Workshop with Jay Bailey at Oil and Cotton. We draw our winners’ names on Friday at noon.

UPDATE:  We have our winner. Thanks for playing!
