While the band hails from Portland, Oregon, Pink Martini is known for its broad range of musical styles and influences from all over the world. Thomas Lauderdale, formerly a politician, originally formed the “little orchestra,” to function as a musical soundtrack to progressive causes. In describing Pink Martini’s music, Lauderdale states, “we’re a bit like musical archeologists, digging through recordings and scores of years past and rediscovering beautiful songs.”
Pink Martini will be playing at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25 at AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Annette Straus Square. Five winners of this week’s Big Deal will receive a pair of tickets.
