For their second concert of the new year, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra welcomes FWSO Composer-in-Residence Jennifer Higdon to the symphonic line-up. Solo percussionist Colin Currie will perform Higdon’s Grammy-winning Percussion Concerto. The concerto by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer is a 25-minute work which features exuberant exchanges between Currie and the orchestra’s percussion section. Closing the concert in a blazing fanfare will be Rachmaninoff’s monumental Symphony No. 2.
