The Big Deal: ‘Embrace’ Presented By Bruce Wood Dance

by Gila Espinoza 5 Jun 2019 1:32 AM

For their June program, EMBRACE, Bruce Wood Dance will present a world premiere from internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer Garrett Smith. Smith’s “Forbidden Paths” explores the restrictions on self-expression, specifically through dance, felt in many countries throughout the world. Also on the bill is the Dallas premiere of Bruce’s “Dark Matter,” a quirky ballet set to violin concertos by Prokofiev. Finally, audiences will experience the much-anticipated restaging of Joy Bollinger’s “Carved in Stone,” the unanimously loved work was the talk of the Dallas dance world in 2016. There’ll only be two performances of EMBRACE, June 14 and 15 at the Moody Performance Hall. Win this Big Deal and you’ll be guaranteed a pair of tickets to the opening performance on Friday.
