The Big Deal: Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s DanceAfrica 2017

by Gila Espinoza 27 Sep 2017 8:32 AM

Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s DanceAfrica 2017 is a tribute to National DanceAfrica Founder Dr. Charles “Baba Chuck” Davis with his favorite mantra “Love, Peace, Respect for Everybody” as the theme. The entire family will enjoy the fun, food, vendors and festivities at the DanceAfrica Marketplace Festival Saturday October 7, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Annette Strauss Artist Square. Admission is free for the daytime festival.

In the evening, Dallas’ Bandan Koro African Drum and Dance Ensemble will be the featured guest artist in nightly performances Friday and Saturday, October 6-7, at Moody Performance Hall. This event will be a bold, colorful and multi-cultural celebration with all five Dallas Black Dance Theatre companies taking part in the performances.  Enter to win a pair of tickets to the Friday, October 6 performance at Moody Performance Hall.
