The Big Deal: Dallas Black Dance Theatre Presents Director’s Choice

by Marcela Sanchez 16 Oct 2019 1:32 AM

Are you ready to see what the future of dance could look like? That is what Dallas Black Dance Theatre presents in its annual Director’s Choice production.

This year’s showcase includes the world premiere of From Within by Nijawwon Matthews and provides the audience a raw, yet elegant, transformative experience – from the trauma of betrayal to self-healing. The new work includes excerpts from Maya Angelou’s poem “Still I Rise.” Other works in this series include Bounce, a contemporary ballet created by Ballet Austin Artistic Director Stephen Mills, and former Alvin Ailey dancer Kirven Douthit-Boyd takes the audience on a journey from anguish to bliss in Furtherance.

Enter to win one pair for opening night performance, Friday, November 1, at the Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

After signing up, take a moment to sign up for our other Big Deals this week. Enter for a chance to see the musical “Annie” at Casa Mañana or to enjoy a Day at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth to see the exhibition, Robyn O’Neil: We, The Masses.

Please note: Only Art&Seek newsletter subscribers are eligible for the Big Deal. If you are not already a subscriber, you’ll want to sign up here for the newsletter first before signing up below. Winners will be selected by random drawing on Friday and will be notified by email. If the winner does not respond within 24 hours after notification, or cannot make the specified performance date, or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly chosen.

UPDATE: We have our winners. Thanks for playing. You can still find ticket information about this event on Art&Seek.
