By now you’ve probably seen all the ads around town “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story” at Casa Mañana. My kids saw one of those ads on a bus bench and wondered who was Holly. My husband and I immediately launched into a whole discussion about Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper, J.P. Richardson. We then proceeded to tell them, well actually sang to them, all the great songs Holly sang. Songs like “Peggy Sue,” “That’ll Be the Day” and “It’s So Easy.” For me, “True Love Ways” is a beautiful earworm. Six decades after the day the music died and the music of Buddy Holly and his band is still loved and remembered today. Do you know somebody who needs to be introduced to Holly’s music? Enter this Big Deal for a chance to win a pair of tickets to the opening performance of “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story” on September 7, at Casa Mañana.
