Brendan Gleeson and comedian Chris O’Dowd star in Fox Searchlight Pictures latest release, Calvary. Gleeson plays Father James a kindly priest seeing to the souls of a quiet Irish village. One day in the confessional Father James is told he will be made to pay for the sins committed against the confessor – not because the priest is guilty of anything but because he is innocent. His would-be-assassin gives the good Father one week to get his house in order before he kills him. Father James ponders the possibility of guilt with each curious encounter he has with members of his flock and the story becomes a case of who-will-do-it rather than a whodunit.
