The Big Deal: Arts & Letters Live! Selected Shorts At The Dallas Museum Of Art

by Gila Espinoza 22 Jan 2020 1:30 AM

As one of the premier reading series in New York City, Selected Shorts comes to the Dallas Museum of Art with an evening of O. Henry Prize-winning stories. The prestigious anthology recently celebrated its 100th anniversary and continues to publish short stories by a mix of celebrated names and new, emerging voices. A selection of award-winning stories—“Midrash on Happiness” by Grace Paley, “Nayla” by Youmna Chlala, “A Permanent Member of the Family” by Russell Banks, and “Oh Shenandoah” by Maura Stanton—will be performed through readings by acclaimed actors. The performers bringing these short stories to life are Wendy Malick of “Just Shoot Me!” and “This Is Us,” Zach Grenier of “The Good Wife,” and Rita Wolf of Tony Kushner’s play, “Homebody/Kabul.” Enter to win a pair of tickets to the February 1 event at the Dallas Museum of Art, part of the DMA’s Arts & Letters Live series.

After taking care of business here, click over and peruse our other offerings for the week. Enter to win tickets to see the musical “The Band’s Visit” at the Winspear Opera House or to see Dallas Theater Center present “Little Women” at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.
