On March 13, In the Heights opens at the Winspear Opera House as part of the Lexus Broadway Series. The show won best musical at the 2008 Tony Awards and follows a group of immigrants to America trying to make it in their new country.
The show is the brainchild of Lin-Manuel Miranda, who took home a pair of Tonys for writing the music and lyrics for the show. He’ll be in town on Saturday Monday, March 5 to take part in the NasherSALON speaker series. If you’re unfamiliar with the show, this would be a great way to study up before it comes to town.
