Next Friday (March 2), Undefeated opens locally. It focuses on an inner-city high school football team in Memphis and the struggles the players go through on and off the field.
As of today, it’s an Oscar nominee for best documentary. But by next Friday, it could be an Oscar-winning doc. Either way, if it got nominated, it’s probably pretty good. This was a tough year for docs to snag a nomination, with several good ones (most notably, Steve James’ The Interrupters) being left out in the cold.
