Giveaway: Passes to 'Moonrise Kingdom'

by Stephen Becker 29 May 2012 10:11 AM

To help out with my duties on The Big Screen podcast, I keep a running list of the movies I’ve seen each year. The other day, I took a look and added up that I’ve watched 40 so far this year.

The one that I’ve enjoyed the most so far? Moonrise Kingdom.

I’m like most people when it comes to Wes Anderson – I either love ’em (The Royal Tenenbaums, The Fantastic Mr. Fox) or hate ’em (The Darjeeling Limited, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou). Moonrise Kingdom succeeds in keeping things simple and universal. At its heart, it’s about a young boy and girl who fall in love and do their best to escape an environment full of people who don’t understand them.

There’s plenty more to say about the movie, which we’ll get to at length in Friday’s podcast. But I bring all of this up because we’ve got passes to giveaway to a special advanced screening of Moonrise Kingdom. The film opens Friday, but you can check it out for free on Thursday night at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. All you have to do is print off this pass (good for two) and show up early – these things always fill up.

If you decide to go, be sure to drop us a comment here and let us know what you thought of it.
