Tickets are now on sale to experience a new vision from the creators of the Immersive Van Gogh experience. The Toronto-based Lighthouse Immersive’s newest exhibit will focus on the life and work of Frida Kahlo.
Using advanced Panasonic digital projectors, the exhibit, housed at the Lighthouse Artspace Dallas, will feature more than 500,000 cubic feet of projected art. Frida: Immersive Dream will highlight unique architectural spaces in cities across the country, filling them with high-resolution projections of Kahlo’s most renowned works. Attendees will get a 360-degree view of Kahlo’s life journey documented through her art, spanning topics from love to hurt to self-realization in ways that are still being analyzed today.
“Frida Kahlo’s work is uniquely suited to be explored in an immersive environment and her life story is equally fascinating,” Lighthouse Immersive Producer Svetlana Dvoretsky said in a statement. “Kahlo lived her life as one giant journey of exploration, and her art mirrored that journey. Our goal is to give our viewers more than an examination of her work; we also hope they will leave with a richer understanding of the smart, complex woman who created these timeless masterpieces.”
After a successful run with their immersive Van Gogh Exhibit, organizers anticipate attracting new and returning guests with the all-ages Kahlo event. Ticket prices range from $34.99 to $79.99, with reservations now open for February 2022.
