Like most stage shows presented in front of a live audience, the pandemic has put a pause on burlesque shows.

After taking a year off because of COVID, the Dallas Burlesque Festival is back for another year of celebrating glitter, glam, and, of course, the art of the tease. Organizers were able to bring back the popular festival by moving their fans and feathers from an indoor theater to outdoors–at the historic Band Shell at Fair Park.

Missy Lisa, a burlesque dancer who started the annual festival back in 2009, said an outdoor venue was not only a safer option, but also provided more atmosphere to the event, as well.

“We’re usually in a theater, but this year decided to do something different because of COVID so we moved it to an outdoor venue. We’ll be performing under the stars, which makes it extra special.”

And speaking of stars, the festival lineup includes lots of talent.

Headlining the event, is three-time Burlesque Hall of Fame winner LouLou D’Vil from Finland. And taking the stage as the second headliner is Las Vegas-based Chippendale dancer Ryan Kelsey. Rounding out the evening is Minneapolis-based comic and “Boss of Burlesque” Foxy Tann.

To keep audiences and performers safe, tickets are limited and seating for this event will be sold via POD groups. This was created to execute a safe seating environment, limiting crossover interaction between fans where possible. And, as a reminder, this show is for audiences 18 and older.
