In Addison, Catch An Outdoor Film At Ida Claire Restaurant

by Mia Estrada 23 Mar 2021 6:00 AM

Addison’s southern-influenced restaurant and bar Ida Claire welcomes visitors to movie nights on the patio.

Every Thursday at 8 p.m., the restaurant will screen a nostalgic film that plays on a projector screen. This week, it’s Mrs. Doubtfire

For each showing — designed for a date night or a night out with friends — the restaurant bartenders create a movie-themed cocktail inspired by a funny line or a scene in the films. All movies are kid and dog friendly too.

According to Ben Woodring, the director of operations, the patio is limited to 35 people and will be socially distanced.

Ida Claire also welcomes restaurant-goers to its Vinyl Hour, which takes place every weekday from 9 p.m. to closing time. Guests choose which classic record they want to spin while enjoying $5 appetizers and cocktails.

Movie nights on the patio were put on pause when the winter storm hit. With the expected upcoming weather, the restaurant is prepared with fans for the summer heat.

The restaurant is accepting reservations by phone and email; call 214.377.8227 or email [email protected].

Here’s the movie and cocktail line up:

March 25 Mrs. Doubtfire; Cocktail is titled Rum by Fruiting, a tiki-inspired drink made with homemade strawberry syrup, muddled blueberries and citrus.

April 1Bad News Bears; Cocktail is titled Fly Ball, inspired by a classic negroni drink made with gin, apricot and elderflower.

April 8 Happy Gilmore; Cocktail is titled It’s All in the Hips, inspired by a refreshing golf course cocktail made with vodka, pear, fresh ginger and lemon juice.

April 15 Wayne’s World; Cocktail is titled Party On, made with tequila, strawberry, lime and peach bitters.
