The Fine Arts Chamber Players is well known for its Hallam Family Concerts, a free chamber music series performed at the Dallas Museum of Art. The group had planned on being together for the last concert of the season this Saturday, but since they couldn’t perform live, a program called Plus One at 1 was created. It’s a series of duets performed by FACP artists from their homes. The group is sharing these brief performances with their fans until they’re back in the concert hall.
“These are short and sweet classical performances chosen by our featured musicians with instruments ranging from flute to harp and everything in between,” said FACP Artistic Director and harpist Emily Levin. “We’re so excited to give people another opportunity to see and hear our musicians perform and we hope that they brighten your day.”
This week’s duet features Laura Bennett Cameron on bassoon and Jim Garner on piano performing “Beau Soir” by Claude Debussy.
Check out the April 22nd performance below featuring flutist Ebonee Thomas and FACP Artistic Director Emily Levin in an excerpt of Gabriel Fauré’s Fantasie. If you look closely you will see these two artists recorded their segments separately, while sheltering in place at their homes.
