Mark your calendars. There are some great Art&Seek picks coming up this week.

The vernal equinox is this weekend. That means there’ll be more daylight time to go out and do more stuff. Yahoo! Celebrate the longer days with one of these Art&Seek approved events and then check out the Art&Seek calendar for more North Texas happenings.

Wednesday

wednesday croppedAn epic battle between good and evil plays out in Fort Worth at Casa Mañana. This is the moment to see “Jekyll & Hyde, The Musical” –  or any moment tonight through March 11.

Visual artist and arts advocate Sharon Louden has artwork in collections at prestigious museums in North America. You can hear the author of “Living and Sustaining a Creative Life” speak tonight at UNT.

thursday croppedThe Black Academy of Arts and Letters hosts a Whitney Houston inspired poetry slam at the Clarence Muse Cafe Theatre. It’s all on you to check out “I’m Every Woman.”

Wayne Newton is known for his signature song, “Danke Schoen.” But the entertainer known as Mr. Las Vegas has dozens of hits. See him perform tonight at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.

friday cropped for postFort Worth’s Stage West has a new show about a foul-mouthed comedian and an overwhelmed man brought together thanks to their cancer-stricken mothers. See how this odd couple learns to laugh through the pain in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City.”

Five Latino artists investigate the characteristics of place in a show at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Don’t forget to check out “Aún Recordamos Aquel Hogar” (We Still Remember What Once Was Home).

Dallas Black Dance Theatre and DBDT: Encore! head to Fort Worth for a duet of recitals. See Dancing Beyond Borders at the W.E. Scott Theatre at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

On Sunday, the Webb Gallery in Waxahachie exhibits works by visual artist Max Kuhn and vintage tattoo flash from the Jonathan Shaw Collection. The show will be on view through April 22
