A Quick Look At Art&Seek’s Reporting
- Texans contributed some of the best music produced and released in 2017. From country to R&B to jazz, Texas musicians made an impact that resonated worldwide. Music journalist and commentator David Okamoto says these artists include an indie-rock visionary, a jazz virtuoso, and an El Paso prodigy who has reinvented R&B crooning as a vehicle for teenage angst.
- Agree with everything. That’s the first rule of improv. Someone says ‘the sky is purple?’ Sure. ‘Aliens are invading?’ Why not?! Whatever comes your way, you roll with it. Art&Seek’s Miguel Perez learned this lesson first hand. And along the way, he learned how this skill could help dementia patients and their caregivers.
- Every week, we here at Art&Seek highlight the personal journey of a North Texas creative. Recently, Anne Bothwell asked me and Jerome Weeks to reflect on who we talked to – and what we learned – this year in the Artist Spotlight.
