Congratulations to Elizabeth Buchanan of Richardson, winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. Liz has won our little contest several times. Her last win was back in July. She follows last week’s winner, Wade Shaffer of Plano.
If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Tuesday to Monday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Friday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Tuesday.
Now here’s more from Elizabeth.
Title of Photo: One Leaf Two Fish Eyes (?)
Equipment: Canon 7D and Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 lens: f/8; 1/60 sec; 109 mm; ISO 250; time of photo 1:46 pm; date made 11/5. I used Adobe Creative Cloud and NIK filters.
Tell us more about your photo: One Leaf Two Fish Eyes (?). At least the bubbles in the upper left and lower right of the photo looked like fish eyes to me. There is a little creek nearby my neighborhood that is an off-shoot of Rowlett Creek. It’s called Beck Branch and it is never deeper than several inches. After the leaves began to fall, the rocks and pieces of limestone in the creek catch the leaves as the water ripples by. The day I was there was an opportune time!
