The Dallas Arts District is in the middle of updating its plan for development. That means rethinking everything from traffic patterns to how many trees line the sidewalks. Lily Cabatu Weiss former is the new executive director of the district, hired in April. While the new plan won’t be public til the end of the year, Weiss told me that it will provide the next steps for more vibrant street life in the cultural district. Listen to our conversation, which aired on KERA FM.
If Weiss’s name sounds familiar, that’s because she had a long and distinguished career as a dance teacher and then artistic director at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. KERA’s Rick Holter talked to Weiss when she retired from the school.
