Two important arts leadership positions in Dallas have just been filled.
Jennifer Scripps will be the new director of the city’s Office of Cultural affairs. Scripps was most recently vice president of revenue operations at the Perot Museum. She replaces Maria Munoz Blanco, who resigned a year and a half ago. The first item on her agenda will be updating Dallas’ 14-year-old culture plan.
And the Dallas Arts District has a new executive director. Her name is Lily Cabutu Weiss. She’s a former chair of the dance department at Booker T. Washington High School. She retired from that position in 2014 to serve as the school’s artistic director. Weiss will replace Catherine Cuellar, who left the arts district in July to head up Entrepreneurs for North Texas.
