Big news here at Art&Seek. Stagger Lee: Making a Musical has been awarded first place for Online/Special Content by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.
All told, KERA won 14 awards – a record number for the station. The statewide public radio newsmagazine, Texas Standard, also won four trophies.
Texas Standard, which originates from KUT in Austin, is co-produced by KERA, Houston Public Media and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio.
The award winner were announced Monday; they’ll be given out April 9 in Austin.
Public media stations dominated the radio categories. KUT won 14 trophies, in addition to the Texas Standard honors. KUHF in Houston won 8. And KETR in the East Texas town of Commerce, won 11 in the small-station division.
KERA received four first-place awards, eight seconds and two honorable mentions. Here are the station’s winners:
