It’s a double-header for arts lovers on Think today.
First up, at noon, host Krys Boyd is interviewing legendary choreographer Twyla Tharp, who is celebrating her 50 years in dance with a new work, presented by TITAS and debuting this weekend at the Winspear Opera House.
Then at noon, Art&Seek’s very own Jerome Weeks take the mic to discuss “Treasures from the House of Alba: 50 Years of Art and Collecting.” Over the last five centuries, the Alba family of Spain has amassed an art collection that includes works by Titian, Van Gogh, Goya, Rembrandt, Renoir and other masters. More than 130 pieces from the collection take up residence this month at the Meadows Museum on the SMU campus. Jerome chats with Alexandra Wilhelmsen, professor of modern languages and adjunct professor of history at the University of Dallas, and Kenneth Andrien, who holds the Edmund and Louise Kahn Chair in history at SMU and is co-author of the recent book, The Spanish Atlantic World in the 18th Century.
