The Dallas Arts District grants are designed to encourage and support ‘new and inclusive’ artworks in the downtown area. The foundation has been doing the encouraging thing since 1977.
The seven recipients this year have been awarded money for performances and programs scheduled in the Dallas Arts District in 2015. Alphabetically, they are the Bruce Wood Dance Project, the Dallas Black Dance Theatre, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, the Dance Council of North Texas, the Fine Arts Chamber Players, the Undermain Theater and the Voices of Change.
The events range from the Free Bancroft Family Concerts at the Dallas Museum of Art, put on by the Fine Arts Chamber Players, to the series, Undermain Reads, also at the DMA, and the Dallas Institute’s Festival of Ideas. All the details can be found here at the DAD’s own website – including info on how to apply for the grants next year.
