We’re continuing to share Glasstire’s weekly Top 5 – a look at their picks for art to see around the state.
This week, there were two picks from the DFW area. The first is South Central Dallas by Laurisa Galvan which is being shown at Mighty Fine Arts. Galvan’s newest exhibit features images of the inner city urban area of South Central Dallas – an area that is, in Galvan’s words, “described as dangerous, both by residents and outsiders… A place where the rules -to a certain extent- don’t apply. It is a place people want to see on television, but they don’t really want to be there. It is a place that can be easily ignored. It’s streets do not sleep day or night.”
Also, Vincent Falsetta’s New Paintings is showing at Conduit Gallery. This will be Falsetta’s eight solo exhibition at Conduit Gallery and will feature abstract paintings that use lines and an almost grid like pattern to move the viewer’s eye across the canvas and make the painting come to life.
