“Spiritus Vitae (Breath of Life)” by Sean McCune

Komali Mexican Restaurant on Cole Avenue has joined forces with Alchemy Arts and Alan Simmons Art and Design for a fiesta of the senses.  The artwork of Brad Jensen, Sean McCune, Michael Mentler, and Yelizaveta Nersesova is on display in the restaurant and bar area, and Komali celebrated the collaboration with “Food & Art,” an event that introduced the artists and “paired” the artwork with Chef Abraham Salum’s cuisine and Mestizo Mezcal. I had a chat with a “backwards” artist, learned how to make some tasty drinkable art, and got a lesson in the difference between tequila and mezcal.
