The Big Screen: Talking ‘Monuments Men’

by Stephen Becker 6 Feb 2014 8:20 AM

This week, we talk about the George Clooney- directed film, which is based on a book by Dallas author and historian Robert Edsel.

CTA TBD

The Monuments Men has an all-star cast, led by George Clooney, Bill Murray and Matt Damon. It follows the true story of the men charged with saving Europe’s prized art from the destruction of World War II. And it’s based on Dallas author and historian Robert Edsel’s book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History.

But unfortunately, a great story on the page didn’t translate into a worthwhile experience on screen. And that’s the topic of this week’s discussion.
