The world premiere production of “JFK” will take place in the Bass Performance Hall on April 16, 2016.

  • It’s A Movie! It’s A TV Show! It’s A Documentary!: Superheroes are everywhere these days, from movies to television shows (i.e. “Marvel’s Agents of Shield”) and now, a PBS documentary. “Superheroes: A Never-ending Battle” explores the history and legacy of superheroes. It’ll premiere tonight on KERA 13 at 7 p.m and features appearances from Stan Lee, Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the 1970s; Joe Simon, co-creator of Captain America and more. Liev Schreiber, who portrays Sabretooth in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” narrates. In the meantime, check out this trailer to whet your superhero appetite:

  • David Dewhurst Says “Obama Ought To Be Impeached”: Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst called for President Barack Obama’s impeachment at a Tea Party meeting in Tarrant County yesterday, the Texas Observer reports. “This election is about protecting you and your freedoms, which are given to you by God, but which are being trampled on by Barack Obama right now. I don’t know about you, but Barack Obama ought to be impeached,” Dewhurst told supporters. “Not only for trampling on our liberties, but what he did in Benghazi is just a crime.” There was more excitement to be had later on in the evening. Observerreporter Christopher Hooks later tweeted:

  • Mark Cuban’s Case Winds Down: Closing arguments will be heard today in the insider-trading case against Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Cuban is accused of using insider information to sell his stake in a Canadian search engine company to avoid $750,000 in losses. Cuban asserts that the information he was given was not made confidential. KERA’s BJ Austin will have more on this story later today.
  • Dallas County Reports Early Flu Death: Dallas County officials reported its first adult flu-related death of the season. The Dallas Morning News reports that the case is unusual because flu-related deaths of adults are not required to be reported to public health departments.  Zachary Thompson, director of the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department, encourages everyone to get a flu shot while the supply is plentiful. Since the government shutdown, the CDC’s flu tracker has not been updated, but Google has been tracking flu trends.
