Congratulations to of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! Christopher has won our contest before; his last victory came in April of 2010. He follows last week’s winner, Shouzeb Noushad.
If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.
Now, here’s more from Christopher:
Name: Christopher Richey
City of Residence: Dallas
Title of photo: Storefront Window Reflection
Equipment: Leica
Tell us more about your photo: My photography usually includes people, or some aspect of the human condition. But on occasion, something else might grab my attention. This image of a storefront window reflection was shot back in the summer of 2010, while exploring downtown Dallas. What I like most about it, is one might think it could be 50 years old, because of 1960’s façade in the reflection. But then after a closer inspection, you will notice the modern vehicle in the foreground, which forever stamps its place in history.
BACKGROUND: Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I received my BFA in Visual Communications from The University of North Texas in 1993. By day I work as an art direction/designer. And when I’m not doing that, I usually out and about looking for something or someone to shoot. More of my photography can be seen at: www.chrisrichey.com
