jeffrey-300x142The Dallas Theater Center‘s production of the new musical, Fly — in effect, a more Swiss Family Robinson version of Peter Pan, with lost-desert-island exoticism and realities — has multi-Tony Award-winning producer Jeffrey Sellers (Rent, In the Heights) making his directing debut. And he’s brought along some Broadway friends to help out, including Tony-winning In the Heights orchestrator/arranger Bill Sherman, who composed the music for Fly, and choreography by Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler (In the Heights), plus lyrics from both Kristen Childs and Rajiv Joseph, author of Bengal Tiger in the Baghdad Zoo.

Listen to Krys Boyd talk with Sellers about how he decides on theater projects, the help of old friends, what led him to Peter Pan and what it’s been like working in Dallas — all on KERA’s THINK:
