Klyde Warren Park in Dallas has received a $2 million gift from the Moody Foundation. The plaza at the intersection of Woodall Rodgers and N. Olive St. will be named Moody Plaza.

“Moody Plaza is going to be a focal point of the park,” Jody Grant, chairman of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, said at the Monday morning announcement. “The trolley will stop here, there will be food service in this area and it’s gonna be just one of the most heavily used venues that we have in the park.”

With the gift, the park has now surpassed its capital campaign goal of $110 million. To generate future revenue, the park has filed for a Public Improvement District with the city. That would provide tax funding for the park.
