‘TIS THE SEASON: The Rite of Spring is getting quite a workout on area stages this year as companies celebrate its 100th birthday. The Joffrey Ballet brought its version through town in January. And this weekend you’ve got two chances to see the blockbuster combo of Stravinsky’s score and Nijinsky’s choreography. Paul Taylor Dance Company brings its staging to the Eisemann Center on Saturday. And SMU will feature the work in its Spring Dance Concert on Friday and Saturday. Dutch choreographer Joost Vrouenraets is handling the movements. And he tells dallasnews.com that he finds ideas from YouTube, comic books and other places. “I don’t want to be a purist,” he says. “I want to be a purist in my vision, but my vision is eclecticism. Everything I have in my luggage, I use.”
