A NEW HIRE: Lots of people are snapping up high-level arts jobs this week. Yesterday, we reported on Catherine Cuellar being named executive director of the Dallas Arts District and Lee Trull earning a promotion at the Dallas Theater Center. And now we learn that Theatre Arlington has chosen Norman Ussery as its new executive director. Ussery comes to the theater from Twin City Stage in Winston-Salem, N.C. He replaces Todd Hart and will start in May.

IMAGE CONSCIOUS: Talley Dunn Gallery is currently hosting a new exhibition of work by Dallas artist Ted Kincaid called “The Terrible Truth / The Beautiful Lie.” With the show, Kincaid continues his exploration of “the assumed veracity of the photographic image.” So what does that mean? “If someone is told that something is a photograph, there’s a lot of themselves that goes into interpreting that image,” he tells dallasnews.com. “And so I have made a career of making real photographs look fake and making fake photographs look real. If you’re looking at one of my images and it looks fake, most likely it’s real. If you look at one of my images and it looks real and photographic to you, most likely it’s fake.” You can try to separate truth from fiction at the gallery through April 13.
