Flickr Photo of the Week

by Jerome Weeks 13 Mar 2013 4:18 PM

Congratulations to Beaman Kolb, winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest!

CTA TBD

OK, we confess. This is not actually a photo shot in Texas.  But it sure looks like it could have been, so we’re letting it in this week because we’re still poring over the great details, typical of a HDR (high dynamic range) image. They just elected an Argentinian pope, we can make an exception and admit a photo from Centralia, Washington.

So congratulations to  the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest! This is Beaman Kolb’s first win in our contest (don’t tell him it may be his last). He follows our previous week’s winner, Brian Neary,

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Title of photo: Indian Gas

Equipment used: Nikon D5000 using my Tamron 10‑24mm

Tell us a little about the photo: It happened like 99% of my HDR, I drive aimlessly for hours (or less), my inspiration is when I see something incredible or unusual, then I shoot.
