3 Solo Acts to Catch at Out of the Loop Fringe Festival

by Jerome Weeks 8 Mar 2013 5:21 PM

Jerome’s got a thing for solo acts.

CTA TBD

OK, so I have a predilection for solo acts. Here are 3 other shows coming up at Out of the Loop Fringe Festival that are worth taking a look at.

Underneath the Lintel, a one-man show about a librarian determined to track down a long-overdue book. Patrick O’Brien has been performing Glen Bergeris’ play for a couple years now – from London to Minnesota.

The Morning After Show, Ayana Hampton’s one-woman cabaret with original music and “vaudevillian shtick.” The Booker T grad has performed Morning After at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York and Bootleg Theater in LA.

The Elephant in My Closet. David Lee Nelson has been a highlight in previous monologue-memoirs like Status Update, and this time he takes on coming-out-of-the-closet and the recent history of the Republican Party.

And while you’re there, you can always catch WaterTower Theatre’s The Ugly One. Here’s my review.
