SPLIT DECISION: In Circle Theatre’s God of Carnage, two sets of parents meet to discuss a fight between their kids. But as the discussion unfolds, it’s the adults who find themselves acting like children. Worth your time? The critics are split. Arguing in the affirmative is Punch Shaw. “This production has absolutely everything going for it: fine script, great acting and outstanding direction,” he writes on dfw.com. Arguing against is Jimmy Fowler. “Ticketbuyers will leave this show confirmed in their suspicion that we all have a breaking point and, when we reach it, are capable of fairly brutish behavior,” he writes on fwweekly.com. “But audiences can be reminded of the same thing by watching any random 10 minutes of cable news. Surely theater should aspire to a little more than that.” You can decide for yourself through Feb. 23.

BROADWAY BOUND: Congratulations to the young performers at Ohlook Performing Arts Center in Grapevine, who earned an outstanding ensemble award at the 2013 Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta. The group performed selections from Honk! Jr., prompting judge Bryan Batt to write, “I have not seen such a talented group of young people ever. It’s at the level of young performers on Broadway.”

AT THE MODERN: The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is hosting a pair of FOCUS exhibitions: one featuring Gary Simmons’ work and the other featuring work by Yinka Shonibare MBE. Shonibare is British and Nigerian, and his diverse background makes its way into his art.
