How’s about an all-video roundup this a.m.? Strangely, each features a guy named David:
DAVID LOWERY IN SUNDANCE: Dallas director David Lowery’s career has been on the uptick of late, most recently because his film, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival. The festival rolls later this month, and ahead of its opening, Lowery talks about his film and how spending some time at the beginning of last year in Park City helped get it made. (For more from Lowery, check out my 2011 interview with him.)
DAVID COLLINS IN NEW YORK: Visual artist David Collins was born in Dallas, but he now calls New York City home. That got the crew from Art This Week interested in what Collins has been up to, so they paid a visit to his studio in the city.
DAVID BYRNE WITH ST. VINCENT: Got a half hour to spare? You could do a lot worse than taking in a recent concert by David Byrne and the Pride of Lake Highlands, St. Vincent. It’s part of NPR’s Live in Concert series and features tunes from their recent collaboration, Love This Giant, as well as solo stuff. It’s good all the way around.
