by Stephen Becker 24 Dec 2012 7:51 AM

Today in the roundup: Bruce Wood’s 2013 schedule, a top accordionist calls Dallas home and a local music death.

CTA TBD

BRUCE WOOD IN 2013: Bruce Wood had quite the 2012 – Jerome looked into My Brother’s Keeper, a new work her debuted this summer. And it looks like he’ll be pretty busy in the coming year. He’ll expand My Brother’s Keeper for performances in March and offer three new dances for a show in June. All the details are on theaterjones.com.

KEYS TO VICTORY: Did you know that Dallas is home to one of the world’s top accordion players? Me neither. But ever since Svetlana Ivanchenko moved here from Russia four years ago, she’s been traveling the world to compete against the best. “If you told me 10 years ago that I would be living in the USA and would represent America at this international competition in Rome I would never, never believe you!” Ivanchenko tells dallasnews.com.

A NOTABLE DEATH: Michael Scaccia, a Fort Worth guitarist who performed with the metal band Rigor Mortis, died of a heart attack following a seizure he suffered during a show early Sunday morning. He was 47. More information is at dfw.com.
