If you needed to escape from election news, this is how to do it,” Mark Lowry writes on theaterjones.com. Ultimately, Lawson Taitte was won over, too. “Director Jim Covault’s cast sings well enough, though not with a high degree of finish. The physical production, too, doesn’t have much in the way of atmosphere or polish. Still, the performers all act so charmingly and convincingly that She Loves Me both touches and entertains. The whole package is lovable,” he writes on dallasnews.com. Catch it through Dec. 9.

A POSTPONEMENT: Hurricane Sandy has caused the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth to postpone “FOCUS: Gary Simmons.” The show was scheduled to open Sunday, but Simmons was unable to get out of New York in time to install it, dfw.com reports. Look for it in early 2013.

SOPRANO SWITCHAROO: Soprano Christine Goerke has had to bow out of her performance Thursday night at UNT’s Murchison Performing Arts Center due to illness. But the show must go on, and this one has managed to find quite the replacement – Latonia Moore. The former UNT student is currently receiving raves for playing the title role in The Dallas Opera’s Aida.
