Chihuly’s hanging around, Dance! North Texas has a new edition and Hip Pocket’s season draws to a close.

CTA TBD

DALE FOR THE HOLIDAYS: The Dallas Arboretum has announced that its blockbuster exhibition of Dale Chihuly glass sculptures has been extended through the end of the year. The display was originally scheduled to be taken down Nov. 5. In a news release, the Arboretum says more than 460,000 people have visited the exhibition, and membership is up 34 percent since May.

ON THE MOVIE: The new edition of Dance! North Texas – the Dance Council of North Texas’ online magazine – is now up on the Web. Included in the current edition are features on Ben Stevenson and Charles Santos and thorough information on every dance performance coming up over the next few months.

THAT’S A WRAP: Hip Pocket Theatre closes its current season with Solo Molemo! And the Long Tall Sallys! The description of the show from the theater says it’s, “A musical pastiche of pantomime, song and dance, featuring two beautiful women and one cantankerous old fool cavorting in odd elderly behavior.” And the old fool, as you might guess, is played by Hip Pocket founder Johnny Simons. “The women are lithe and delightful throughout, but this show is about Simons,” Mark Lowry writes on dfw.com. “His moves his arm like a wave with enviable fluidity, and every crag and wrinkle on his face adds to the expressiveness of his eyes.” “This single-act experience is short, sweet and utterly captivating,” is how Perry Stewart encapsulates it on theaterjones.com. Interested? This is your last weekend to see it.
