TACA (The Arts Community Alliance) exists to raise money for and provide support to arts groups around Dallas. This year, the group gave $1 million in grants to more than 40 groups. So it makes sense that once a year, they honor two philanthropic leaders with their Silver Cup Award.
The 2013 recipients will be Peggy Sewell and Roger Nanney. They’ve both a long list of work on boards and foundations that pretty much defines the term “civic involvement.” You can read details on the press release after the jump, but here are some arts-related highlights:
- Sewell is on the Board of Trustees at the Dallas Museum of Art. She’s also a member of the Meadows School of the Arts Executive Board and the Advisory Council for Klyde Warren Park.
- Nanney is Chairman of the Board of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and has been a leader for the PAC for 8 years.
The winners were announced last night at a reception at the home of Jennifer and John Eagle, CEO of John Eagle Dealerships and President of the Dallas Museum of Art Board of Trustees. Eagle, and Sarah Perot, who also attended the reception, won the Silver Cup in 2011. Caroline Rose Hunt and Frank Risch were this year’s winners.
The annual TACA Silver Cup luncheon recognizing the winners will be held on Feb. 22 at the Hilton Anatole. It’s one of TACA’s major fundraising events.
Press release follows:
