by Sarah Hennigan 24 Aug 2012 1:57 PM

Jennifer Portz tells us about her work for tomorrow’s Art Conspiracy seed event, RZN8.

CTA TBD

Local artist Jennifer Portz will be among those showcased at tomorrow’s RZN8 event. Jennifer has appeared in galleries around Texas, including multiple shows at the Kettle Art Gallery here in Dallas. Like the other artists, Jennifer was tasked with creating a piece centered around a speaker. Here’s what she had to tell us about her work and her experiences with ArtCon:

What was your inspiration for your RZN8 piece (left)?

My inspiration is always EYES..how to translate thru them..to help others see a certain feeling.

How did you approach this year’s theme of speakers?
Imagined my Eyeflowers dancing to a grooving beat…and Voila = “Eye Groove”
How did you become involved with RZN8 and Art Conspiracy?
Three years ago at my husband’s lodge Sons of Hermann. I heard ART people were upstairs in the ballroom so being an Artist yearning for long-lost Artfolk 20yrs+ after Artschool, I simply HAD to get UP there..and bOOm, there at SEED I met three ArtCon folks there that felt my enthusiasm.  I got put onto the list then jumped into ArtCon5 🙂
What are you looking forward to most on Saturday?
The NRG, ha! Energy!!  FAVORITE combo of ART & People mixed together makes the atmosphere!

As RZN8 is for such a good cause towards ArtCon8 it will literally sing to my eyes and heart simultaneously.
